Here, I’ve gathered the most common questions I get about the shields, custom orders, and delivery.

About the Shields

1. Are Forgeheim’s shields historically accurate?

Short answer: No. Forgeheim shields are inspired by Viking Age shields, not direct replicas. I use the concept of a Viking shield as a foundation—building it from scratch—and then use it as a canvas for history, stories, and heritage.
Would you like a design that’s closer to historical finds? I can create that as a custom order too.

2. What materials do you use?

  • Plywood → Stronger and more durable than traditional plank construction.

  • Shield bosses → Purchased from trusted blacksmiths and suppliers.

  • Faux leather → Used on the edges for protection and a clean finish.

  • Paints & oils → Various types of acrylic paints and wood oils in different shades. All designs are hand-painted—sometimes inspired by historical patterns, sometimes entirely unique.

3. Are the shields just for decoration, or can they be used?

My shields work both as decorative pieces and functional props.
They’re not made for full-contact combat, but they’re perfectly suited for reenactments, cosplay, photoshoots, and similar uses. 

4. Can you paint custom designs?

Yes! I gladly accept custom orders. Whether you want a family symbol, runes, a mythological motif, or a completely original design, we can create a unique shield together.

6. Do you ship orders world wide?

Shields, no! I only ship Forgeheim shields within Sweden.
Merchandise, yes! Everything other than shields can be shipped worldwide.

7. How long is the delivery time?

  • Standard Shields → Usually shipped within 3–5 business days.

  • Custom Shields → Usually shipped within 1–4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design.

  • Merchandise → Usually shipped within 1-2 weeks.

8. How do I track my order?

Once your order has been shipped, you’ll receive a tracking number via email.

9. Can I get a completely unique design that no one else has?

Yes! That’s actually one of the things that makes Forgeheim special.
Together, we can create a completely unique shield with your personal story woven into the design.
